Fresh
Starts for Fall 2004
With
fall in full gear, makeup colors reflect the cooler temperatures
and warmer clothes. As clothes get heavier, so do makeup colors.
Fall makeup is strong and sweet as well as unpredictable. Cheeks
are flushed, eyes are done with liner and lips range from pretty
to lush.
Makeup
provides a breath of fresh air by creating a rosy, just-from-the-outdoors
look. The trend is due in part to our obsession with fitness and
that healthy glow, but the look also coordinates well with autumn
fashions such as tweed jackets.
The
most dramatic focus of the season is on the eye. Using a color
mascara instead of jet black gives lashes lots of soft volume,
though you need to make sure your eyeliner coordinates with the
shade of your mascara. Apply some concealer to your eyelids -
this is a make-up trick used by the pros to ensure that shadow
stays put and looks smooth. Deep purples, plums, blues and neutrals
adorn the classic smoky eye, while bright berries, burgundies,
reds and fuchsias give the lips a cool, dramatic sizzle.
Keep
that summer glow around for just a little longer with a light
bronzing powder. Remember to sweep towards your temple - do not
apply in a circular motion on your cheeks.
Even
though fall is here, it's still important to wear sunscreen! Ultraviolet
rays can damage your skin all year round, so keep using your SPF
15 foundation!
Autumn
represents a time of challenge to our skin. Use a daily moisturizing
milk on your skin such as Milk of Mandarine. It contains natural
oils from the peel of mandarines. The richness of the essential
oils and its beneficial effects explain why this milk is among
the leader of Colosé's treatment milks. Along with palm
oil and a vitamin compound rich in vitamins C and E, it refreshes,
moisturizes and conditions.
