Calendula
relieves pain and has been found to be a natural antiseptic,
anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic. It is high in carotenoids
as noted by its bright yellow or orange colored flowers.
Carotenoids assist in a quick and efficient repair of skin
damage and the effects of aging on the skin. They help the
skin heal and become smooth and pliant again. Calendula
can help relieve sore nipples for nursing mothers and it
increases circulation.
Calendula
is also very astringent. Calendula is very effective for
treating bruises. It helps the small blood vessels to seal,
stopping bleeding and preventing bruising. It is very good
for healing common sores and bed sores. Calendula is very
effective for the same reasons on varicose veins and hemorrhoids.
Athlete's foot or other forms of fungus respond favorably
to calendula.
