Tips and Advice: Hair Care Hair maneuvers Wash your hair in warm water. Shampoos are formulated to work best with it. If the water is too hot, it can make you scalp dry and itchy. If it´s too cold, the shampoo may not rinse out completely. In order to keep hair in its healthiest state, it is not recommended to use extreme temperatures either too hot or too cold. Remember that hair is a fiber just like cotton or wool and extremes can damage it. Be gentle. Remember too, that probably the most important thing is to rinse thoroughly. ------------------------------ Wet hair---to comb or brush? Since hair is most porous at the ends, which means that the cuticle (tiny scales) can be lifted, it is best to comb the hair from the ends upward. This will gently remove any tangles without breaking the hair. Starting at the top causes the tangles to mesh one upon another and creates a knotty mess. When we comb from the ends we leave that part smooth so the next section will not tangle. Many people like the nylon bristle brushes, but this is not good for use on wet hair until the tangles are all removed. ------------------------------ Shaving Does Not Have To Be A Pain Hair removal doesn´t have to be a pain. Here´s a tip to avoid rashes: always use a sharp, new razor blade. A dull blade causes you to press harder, making irritation likelier. Follow the shave with a soothing lotion.
